In this workshop with Dr. Guy Burak (Librarian for Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies at NYU), participants will look at several eighteenth-century inventories from the Arabic-speaking provinces of the Ottoman Empire and explore potential uses of these documents for the intellectual, political and legal history of the Middle East and, more broadly, the Islamic world.
