In this workshop participants will learn about the Unix command line and how to use it for processing born digital media with ease. The Unix command line is a useful tool for automating repetitive tasks and it can be accessed through Linux and Mac operating systems, or through Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL).

In this virtual workshop, you will learn how computational methods can be applied for the creation of music and sound art! All skill levels are welcome.

In this workshop, we will explore the capabilities and limits of using AI to perform classical DH tasks with a focus on textual analysis, including tasks such as POS, Topic Modeling, sentiment analysis, and classification. No prior knowledge of DH methods is required. Participants are encouraged to bring their own devices and corpus of texts they want to work on.

Join us and learn about the complexity of digital preservation from a panel of library professionals, how to implement some best practices for your personal archiving or academic research, and hear from faculty and students on how they engage and practice digital preservation in their own projects.
