Hourly Student Employment - Online Learning Object/Tutorial Developer (open to graduate students only)
We are seeking a graduate student from the College of Education at the University of Texas at Austin to work with our team to update and rebuild an online tutorial that is used all over campus to support students in avoiding plagiarism. The script for the tutorial has been created by librarians and is based upon assessment we have done with undergraduates. We need someone to build an engaging and accessible tutorial that incorporates visual elements and embedded quizzes. The tutorial will consist of multiple modules with embedded quizzes and should be created in Panopto for integration into Canvas Commons. This opportunity is perfect for someone with a background in learning technologies and related fields who wants to add a project like this to their portfolio.

Position Title: Online Learning Object/Tutorial Developer
Department: TLS
Supervisor: Elise Nacca
Position is project-based and must be completed by 08/31/2025.
Work Schedule: 10 hours/week, to be arranged with supervisor
Duties:
- In collaboration with Libraries staff, design and develop an online learning object/tutorial that meets project objectives, including audio and visual elements.
- Test and evaluate the learning object/tutorial to ensure functionality, usability, and accessibility.
- Create a project timeline to share with stakeholders to ensure on time completion
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to project stakeholders.
- Complete the project within the agreed timeline (before 8/31/25) and budget
Required Qualifications:
- UT Austin College of Education graduate student enrolled in minimum of 6 credits for the Spring 2025 semester.
- Familiar with best practices in elearning pedagogy and with creating accessible elearning tools.
- Background in learning technologies, elearning, instructional design, or related fields.
- Familiarity with or interest in learning relevant software and tools, specifically Panopto and Canvas Learning Management System
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Working Conditions: Regular indoor working conditions.
Rate of Pay: $20.00
