Assist with the processing, organization, and description of born-digital archival materials to prepare them for ingest into the UT-Austin institutional repository, Texas ScholarWorks.
Position Title: Digital Archiving Assistant

Supervisor: Ian Goodale
Position is subject to renewal each semester.
Work Schedule: 20 hours per week, scheduled between hours of 8-5, Monday-Friday.
Duties:
- Create and edit metadata and check existing metadata for errors
- Edit images to prepare them for uploading to our institutional repository, Texas Scholar Works
- Organize files into a production-ready state before they are uploaded to Texas ScholarWorks
- Optional, depending on candidate experience: run existing Python scripts to automate certain processing steps for the data
Required Qualifications: UT Austin graduate student enrolled in minimum of 6 credits for the Spring 2025 semester. Research or professional interest in archival material and/or digital archives.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Python for automating archival workflows, file manipulation, and/or text processing

Working Conditions: Regular indoor working conditions.
Rate of Pay: $20.00
