Hourly Student Employment - RDH Research Student Technician (Graduate students only)

Position Title: DH Research Student Technician

Department: RSDI

Supervisor: Allyssa Guzman

Position is subject to renewal each semester.

Work Schedule: 10 hours/week, schedule flexible.

Duties: 

  • Assist faculty and staff with their work on Domain of One’s Own (DoOO) and associated content management systems (Scalar, Omeka).
  • Support DH Research project management. Assist with general scheduling meetings, documentation, and outreach; and the development of general orientation materials and training workshops. Organize and coordinate collaborative meetings. 
  • Engage in talks with university groups and committees. Organize and coordinate outreach opportunities in the form of workshops.
  • Develop online presence for DH Research. Coordinate blog posts, guidelines, and documentation. 
  • Help design and share guidelines for using DoOO and associated systems. 

Required Qualifications: UT Austin graduate student enrolled in minimum of 6 credits for the fall 2024 semester.  Must have an interest in Digital Humanities and experience with project management, and be willing to learn new technological skills and teach others.  

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Digital Humanities methods and projects as well as teaching or working with the public. Strong oral and written communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Ability to work both independently and as a team member. Strong critical thinking skills. While candidates from all programs of study may apply, candidates enrolled in a humanities program are strongly encouraged to apply.

Working Conditions: Regular indoor working conditions.

Rate of Pay: $27.00
