Conducting research doesn't necessarily require collecting new data; re-using existing data can often be both efficient and powerful. This virtual Data & Donuts workshop will focus on Finding and Evaluating existing datasets for use in research from specialist and generalist repositories.

This virtual workshop will cover how to use AI to generate keywords for a research question. Using Microsoft CoPilot, we will generate search terms on a particular topic, identify databases and journals to search, and determine terms to use when searching specific databases.

Canva is a free online tool for designing visuals like social media posts, presentations, and documents using customizable templates. In this hybrid workshop, attendees will learn the basic tools of Canva and apply them to a variety of templates.

This virtual Digital Humanities Workshop will introduce participants to “distant reading,” a form of text analysis.

In this workshop, participants will learn techniques and best practices for digitizing and working with digitized materials from libraries and archives. After an initial one hour workshop, we will have librarians available for an additional hour of office hours for more in-depth consultation on attendees’ own questions or research projects.
