In this workshop, you'll learn how to use the Unix command line to process born digital media more efficiently. The Unix command line is a powerful tool for automating repetitive tasks and can be accessed through Linux and Mac operating systems, or through Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). You'll work with born digital materials, including files created and managed digitally as well as storage media such as hard drives, optical discs, and removable storage devices. The workshop will cover basic commands for virus scanning, copying, deduplicating, and converting files. Join us to learn practical techniques for preserving your born digital files for long-term access and sustainability!
