Digital Scholars in Practice: Unveiling Political Narratives: Text Analysis and Network Analysis of Twitter Data on Asian American Candidates

The Digital Scholars in Practice Lecture Series is pleased to welcome Dr. Shu-An Tsai, Post-doctoral Fellow at the Center for Taiwan Studies. Dr. Tsai's talk is titled, "Unveiling Political Narratives: Text Analysis and Network Analysis of Twitter Data on Asian American Candidates." The talk will take place on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 12 pm in the PCL Scholars Lab Data Lab. Lunch provided! 

The talk provides an overview of how political science research applies text analysis, focusing on several widely used models, such as Term Frequency and Topic Modeling. Additionally, it explores the concept of Analysis of Topic Model Network. It examines how Asian American candidates use social media to emphasize critical points in shaping their public image and messaging.
