The University of Texas Libraries is pleased to share that the University of Texas System has signed a new open access (OA) agreement with Wiley, one of the world’s largest academic publishers.
Effective April 28, 2025, the agreement will cover the full cost of article processing charges (APCs) for UT-affiliated corresponding authors publishing in Wiley’s hybrid open access journals – those that offer authors the option to publish OA in otherwise subscription-based publications.
This agreement applies not only to articles submitted on or after April 28, but also retroactively to those accepted for publication between January 1 and April 28, 2025. It represents a significant step toward expanding equitable access to research while reducing the financial burden on UT authors.
Authors can find more details, including eligibility requirements and how to take advantage of the agreement, on the UT Austin Wiley Agreement landing page.
