United States Department of Agriculture Soil Surveys
Soil surveys have been published by the United States Department of Agriculture for over 100 years.
The Department has a listing of all surveys, including online editions,

The University of Texas Libraries own most printed editions of these surveys, as well as a few in CD-ROM format.
Surveys for Texas:
Most Texas Soil Surveys are available in the
Perry-Castañeda Library and the
Walter Geology Library.
Search the
Library Catalog for holdings.
To find a specific survey in the

type the county and state names as a Title Keyword Search.

Surveys for Other States:
Soil surveys published after 1960 for other states and U.S. Territories are shelved on the 6th floor
of the Perry-Castañeda Library. Surveys completed before 1960 are in remote storage
and can be requested by using the link provided in the online catalog record.
