What is "We ❤ UT Libraries"?
This initiative is a fun way to re-connect with the University while creating a community of library enthusiasts. UT students depend on their libraries. UT Libraries depends on you.
Did you know that the UT alumni community is over 400,000 strong? We think there is enough Longhorn pride to get 100,000 of our alumni and friends to join the “We (heart) UT Libraries” community of support.
All it takes is you!
To Participate:
- Share Your Story and tell us why you love libraries!
- Make your $40 annual contribution to UT Libraries.
- Share what you have done with other alumni and friends by encouraging them to join the community. It’s about people not dollars.
Power in Numbers
Our goal is to get 100,000 alumni and friends to share their library story and to give $40 a year for 3 years in support of UT Libraries. That’s just $120 over 3 years!
Every contribution counts. Your contribution will have the following impact:
- Add new books to the library, digitize hundreds of maps, buy subscriptions to electronic journals for engineering, business and liberal arts students;
- Renovate study spaces to accommodate more students with better technology;
- Initiate world-wide archival partnerships like the Human Rights Documentation Initiative;
- Provide new library resources for teaching and research in emerging areas like energy policy, nanotechnology and advanced computing;
- Expand our collection with unique items like the Sam Shepard Papers.
The money you give will increase our margin of excellence. Because of your support the library won’t have to make the tough choice of what books we can add to our collection or which e-journals to eliminate as a result of decreasing state budgets.
