Open Access Scholarly Publishing with the Texas Digital Library
Room SAC 1.118
As part of UT Libraries’ Open Access Week @ UT Austin, Debra Hanken Kurtz, director of the Texas Digital Library (TDL), discusses the free scholarly publishing services available to UT faculty through the TDL. In addition to exploring the value of Open Access publishing generally as a means of increasing journals’ readership and their contributions to the public good, the talk will focus on Open Journal Systems, a journal management and publishing tool used by thousands of scholarly journals worldwide. This and other tools offered by the TDL provide the means of producing peer-reviewed online journals and conference proceedings and of indexing content with search engines so that it is easily discoverable online. Food and drinks will be provided while it lasts.
